Training on responsible sea turtle tourism practices

Under its sea turtle programme WWF Guianas promotes responsible sea turtle tourism practices. Now that the sea turtle season is taking off again, it is crucial to remind those that guide tourists to see nesting turtles of the good practices and guidelines they should follow for turtle watching. The first of such training was held on 8 February 2018 at the Bastion Hotel in Nieuw Amsterdam Suriname together with Green Heritage Fund Suriname who also provided information on mangroves and other ecosystems, and Orange Travel. It was attended by 25 people including local boats men, tour guides and tour operators.
