Support the implementation of the BIODEV2030 project activities in Suriname to address issues common to Suriname and Guyana in terms of fisheries production practices on a scale consistent with the challenges at hand, using existing channels to facilitate exchanges of experience.

Under the guidance of and reporting directly to the Oceans coordinator of WWF-Guianas, the Consultant shall:
- Provide input to the draft stakeholder list, conduct stakeholder mapping, identifying key stakeholders (October 21, 2024).
- Prior to the first inception meeting in Suriname, engage key stakeholders and raise awareness on the BIODEV2030 project (mid–October 2024—end of October 2024).
- Support organizing and moderating the inception workshop (mid-November 2024) and the first working group consultation in Suriname (end of January 2025). Preparing all relevant meeting materials and reports of the two (2) workshops.
- Develop policy briefs on the existing public policy instruments and the productive practices within the fisheries sector that will support discussions at the 1st working group consultation (November 2024 – Mid-January 2025)
- Support the communication strategy for the BIODEV2030 project and provide input to the WWF-Guianas communications team throughout the consultancy period.
- Ensure internal monthly reporting and actively participate in meetings with WWF France throughout the consultancy period.
- Getting familiar with the outcomes of the BIODEV2030 Phase I project in Guyana, the expected outcomes of the Phase II project within Guyana and Suriname, and the outcomes of the regional Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) fishing project in the 3 Guianas.
- Engaging relevant stakeholders within the fishing sector (Government agencies, Civil Society organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Private Sector and Academia) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) focal point in a participatory process for the development of the tasks outlined above.
- Reviewing and analyzing the existing public policy instruments relevant to the fisheries and biodiversity sector.
