This publication serves as a guide for indigenous and local communities who wish to participate in a CMRV process. It provides information to help communities to understand the process, and how, as a tool, the guide can be used to improve planning at the local level. In particular, it will help to strengthen decision-making and rights-based mechanisms in order to achieve an effective and evidencebased management of a community’s resources, livelihoods, and well-being.
