In our work we seek to build upon previous experiences and lessons learned from our efforts. Our approach focuses on best practices, partnerships, and science and research. We invest in building up and demonstrating best practices with stakeholders at landscape level, in forests, freshwater, oceans and iconic species. And we apply environmental social safeguards across our practices.

People’s livelihoods depend on the availability of natural resources, such as clean water and air and healthy food. That is why people are at the heart of our new strategy. We can only successfully protect biodiversity if we work closely with indigenous and local communities that have been stewards for nature for generations. And we can only manage our natural resources sustainably if we work on influencing attitudes and behaviors of people, decision making of governments and policyies of businesses that impact nature.

As a solutions oriented and science based organization WWF builds a bridge between knowledge and practice, while at the same respecting traditional knowledge. By introduce innovations and implementing these with partners we help solving issues that challenge us. And by tapping into the power of the worldwide network of WWF we have access to an impressive source of expertise, best practices and experience to achieve our ambitious conservation goals.
