EARTH HOUR GUYANA
Earth Hour activities and events will be observed on World Water Day - March 22, 2025.Guyana, known as the "Land of Many Waters," has a rich history deeply connected to its abundant water resources. This year, Earth Hour in will focus on ‘THE JOURNEY OF WATER,’ to raise awareness about the importance of freshwater resources and the need to safeguard them, by calling on Guyanese to 'WATCH OVER WATER'.
Earth Hour aims to reconnect people with the natural sources of their water and encourage sustainable water use practices.Uniting individuals, organizations, and government bodies in a collective effort to ensure the continued safeguarding of rivers, lakes, and wetlands that serve as lifelines for biodiversity, culture, and local economies.

The Journey of Water Challenge is an exciting scavenger hunt designed to test your knowledge about freshwater resources of Guyana. This challenge will take participants on a journey along some of the most significant rivers, lakes and wetlands in Guyana.

COUNTDOWN LIGHTS OFF CONCERT
MARCH 22 | 7 - 9PM

As we gather under the night sky, counting down to the big lights off moment, we will hear the wonderful voices and sounds of local singers, dances and poetry, with brief statements and presentations from key organizations, telling a story about Guyana’s water systems from the highlands to our homes.
