Dominiek Plouvier, Regional Representative- Has been working with and for WWF eversince 1994. He holds an MSc in Agricultural Sciences 1983, with a specialisation in tropical forest management, timber use and nature conservation from the State University of Gent, Belgium.

He started his professional career in Suriname at the State Forest Service. He brings to the Guianas a long experience as a consultant in various African, Asian, South American and European countries. Dominiek speaks Dutch, French, English and Spanish fluently, and that will be a great asset to his work in the mulit lingual setting of the Guianas.

Gerold Zondervan, Program Officer, Suriname.

Gerold Zondervan, Regional Advisor- Studied both Tropical Forestry and Mathematical Statistics at the "Landbouwhogeschool Wageningen" (now: Wageningen Agriculture University) in the Netherlands. After graduation in 1974, he returned to Suriname, where he started his professional career at the Forest Service.

His international experience took him for four years to the Koppers-Hickson Company (Department of Wood-Technology) in Pittsburgh, USA. From 1995 until 1999 he worked as researcher and team leader of projects for both the Forestry and Wood technology departments at the Center of Agricultural Research in Suriname (CELOS).

He is experienced especially in executing projects in Forestry Research (Sustainable Forest Management Systems).

In February 1999 he started working for WWF-Guianas as Program Officer for Suriname and Regional Forest Officer for the Guianas.

Marie-Louise Felix, Wildlife Management Officer, Suriname.

Marie-Louise Felix, Regional Marine Coordinator- Holds a Master's Degree in the Management of Endangered Species in Trade and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the University of the West Indies.

Marie-Louise joined WWF in May 2001 as the Wildlife Management Officer. Prior to her coming to Suriname, she worked in St. Lucia with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. She has extensive experience in the field of tropical freshwater and marine biodiversity conservation and management, and is familiar with several International and Regional Environmental Conventions.

Juliette Pawirosonto, Finance and Administration Manager, Suriname.

Juliette Pawirosonto, Finance and Administration Manager- Graduated in Business Economics at the University of Suriname.

Working for recognized offices such as Ernst & Young Accountants, Deloitte & Touché Accountants, as assistant- accountant  and later at the Tax Office in  Suriname, she gained the needed experience to work at her present job.

Juliette started working at WWF Guianas in June 2001 as the Accountant/Grants Manager. In this position she is responsible for the complete financial management of the WWF Guianas program, Preparation and monitoring of the annual budgeting cycles, management of donor contracts (financial reporting), Compliance of the program with HQ-institutional standards and the supervision the accounting and Grants administration.

Angela Anijs, Secretary/Office Manager-  Has an Executive Secretary diploma an Assistant Manager diploma, English Business correspondence, English Conversation and an English stenography diploma.

She has worked as a secretary at the Surinam Timber State Forest Industries, Inc., the University of Suriname and the Ministry of Planning and Development.

She holds the position of Secretary/Office Manager at WWF Guianas since March 1999. In this position she provides administrative- and logistical support to the office staff and takes care of the office.

George Cheuk A Lam, System Administrator, Suriname.

George Cheuk A Lam, System Administrator- Gained his computer knowledge through, on the job training, seminars and books, after finishing school.He is the System Administrator of the computer network since august 2000 and in this position responsible for the management and maintenance of the computer network at WWF Guianas.

Melissa Gordijk, Admin Assistant/ Receptionist, she is the first person who greets you at the front desk. She has been with us since 2005 after working at the European Union as acting administrative assistant and as part time English teacher at Lyceum II. Is currently a student at the Suriname College of Hospitality and Tourism. She works directly under the supervision of the Office Manager and is a great Assistant as well for the other Technical Officers.
